Not sure what to call it but I've noticed a big trend in new dnb beats being kind of electric dirty wobbley (for example the new Netsky tune Come Alive). Just wondering what everyone thinks of this kind of dnb? At the risk of sounding like a hipster I am going to say I don't really like it mainly because I find it cheesy but I'll give it a chance :> Everyone know what am talking about? Is it a sub-genre yet? *AWAITS FLAME*
Its been like that for a while but mainly at the last Hospitality I was at a few weeks ago Netsky + High Contrast were headlining and the majority of the tunes they dropped were basically electroy dirty cheese, its hard to explain, its like real early in the morning here am about to go to bed but I'll post a few tunes tomorrow as examples! Stuff like the prototypes remix of that ed sheeran tune Lego house...(which I actually like). I have just noticed more and more of this style of dnb and was wondering if it came under a seperate genre....
second skin - loadstar type of stuff?? Yeah ive noticed it more too. Metrik's new release is an example. I prefer the old Metrik, so yeah i get what your saying sort of
i know what your talking about, and NO this is not a sub genre nor will it ever be. DNB artists are simply recycling synths from dubstep producers and incorporating them into their tracks. its simply a new sound. but technically it would be 'Jump up'
it won't. it had its chance, and the masses said no. which is a good thing.
it keeps the masses from "bastardizing" it, like we have seen with dubstep.
dnb in general dodged that progress. still cant see crap dnb take over (sure, there are 2 or 3 artists that are pretty famous with, lets be honest, pretty weak skills (both mastering and song progression)), but the majority of people still digs the thought-out, well produced, for the masses highly inappropiate technical sound of dnb.
was listening to noisias sunhammer in my car with a couple of friends lately, they couldnt even understand whats going on in that tune.
Don't you just want to switch the names of the "DubStep" and the "Requests" sections?
the neighbor above me said neurofunk sounds like:
"b-b-b-b-b-b-bb-bb-bb-bb-bb-bb-bb-bbb-bbb-bbb-bbb-bbbb-bbbbbb-bbbbb-bbbb- bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb- (yea thats the bassdrum intro ) -> and then it sounds like a drill for him for some minutes and then again the bassdrum intro hahaha I laughed so hard at this description
